Testimonials

I have had the great pleasure of studying Spanish under the guidance of Viviana Gonzales since the first quarter of 2023. She is a great teacher and has become a friend and a confidante… in Spanish! Except in translating the occasional word, all of our discussions and exercises are in the Spanish language, which has really boosted my confidence. She has an easy, positive and charming personality and shares fascinating information about her experiences and travels. She shows a sincere curiosity about my life experiences which really develops my use of past, present and future tenses.
I highly recommend Viviana as a Spanish professor in all its forms of communications.

Viviana is truly a special individual and teacher. I’ve taken many foreign language courses over the years and have had two other great, long term, private Spanish teachers prior to finding Viviana. I wasn’t expecting to find a life long (hopefully) teacher as I’ve found in Viviana. No one has compared to how wonderful she is. She truly loves teaching and it shows in everything she does - in how she conducts class, prepares for class, and patiently corrects her students at the same time as encouraging them. She is kind, honest, professional, a pleasure to spend time with, and most importantly, in incredible teacher. Her patience, attention to detail, and understanding of languages/linguistics as a whole has not only improved both my ability and confidence to speak, but also my love for learning Spanish and attending classes. You will not find a better private Spanish teacher than Viviana and I’d bet on that.
I have been taking Spanish lessons with Viviana for 2.5 years now, and our classes are truly something I look forward to every week.
What sets Viviana apart is that her lessons go far beyond grammar and vocabulary. She thoughtfully weaves in culture, food, art, music, movies, and travel, making every class engaging and enriching. Her lessons are always well-planned, and she teaches in a way that feels encouraging and approachable. It’s difficult to learn a new language and easy to feel discouraged with the complexities of grammar, but Viviana motivates me to keep going, and I’ve seen my fluency improve tremendously as a result.
When I first reached out to Viviana, I wasn’t sure I’d be able to commit to learning Spanish with a toddler at home and a demanding job. But her passion for teaching the Spanish language and culture and her genuine encouragement quickly drew me in. Learning Spanish has become one of the most rewarding parts of my week, thanks to Viviana.
When I first decided I wanted to learn Spanish, I tried to teach myself and learn on my own. I quickly realized that if I truly wanted to learn another language, I would need a teacher. I would need guidance, support, and confidence. I found all of these things and more in Viviana. I would not be anywhere near the level that I am at today if it wasn't for her! My sister and my dad are fluent in Spanish and I can have conversations with them. My mother in law's first language is Spanish and I am able to have conversations with her and felt closer to my husband's family in general. I am also able to assist with Spanish speaking clients better at my work. I am so happy with the progress I've made and am so excited to continue to learn. Without Vivi, I probably would've given up trying to learn as it would've felt too overwhelming. She makes learning Spanish fun and something that I look forward to! Thank you so much, Vivi!
Vivi has been incredible. She is absolutely brilliant (a published author – poet) and is also one of the nicest and most interesting people I have ever met. Her patience is unparalleled. And her skill as a teacher is wonderful.
I can read anything. Truly. One of the greatest things about her as a teacher is that she infuses confidence into her students. And that is hard with high achieving folks who do not want to look like idiots while learning anything, much less a language.
We are making progress on the listening and speaking. While this has to be painful for Vivi to listen, week after week, to my hideous accent, you would not know it from her fabulous positive attitude. She is a gifted teacher. She adapts and makes it work.
